Judy Tint

Attorney / Clinical Associate Professor of Music Business, NYU

Judy Tint is a music attorney, educator, and musician. A graduate of Rutgers College and Columbia Law School, she represents recording artists, songwriters, producers, independent labels, DJs, and other music-makers, from unknowns to icons. She has served on the faculty of the NYU Music Business Program since 2008. Judy is Chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on The Entertainment and Sports Industries, and a member of Leadership Music’s Class of 2020. She has made numerous trips to Capitol Hill as an advocate for artists’ rights, and has lectured extensively on various topics in the entertainment field, for organizations including SXSW, Practicing Law Institute, Women in Music, New Music Seminar, CMJ Music Marathon, MusiCares, and NOLA Music Tech.

Judy is also a musician and songwriter. She has provided vocals and percussion for a variety of recordings, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Apollo Theater, Radio City Music Hall, The Ryman Auditorium, Broadway’s Palace Theatre, Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, and numerous other venues throughout the country and beyond.
