Make Music New York-1,000 Drums Crying for Peace

Percussionist Andre E. Small of Afrikumba Utibé Drummers will bring the entire East Harlem community to vibrant life with a historic participatory performance experience: 1,000 Drums Crying for Peace. Drummers of all backgrounds, styles, ages and skill levels are invited and encouraged to take part and to take to the streets with a powerful message spoken through the rhythms our most ancient form of communication: put down the guns, put aside the violence, and pick up a drum.
