Unplugged: Ali Dineen & Feral Foster with Special Guest Little Nora Brown

June 7, 2019 @ 6:00 am - 8:00 pm

Unplugged features intimate acoustic acts performed at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 3 Greenway Terrace, Friday evenings in June and July. Artists in June are curated by Brooklyn Americana Music and feature a range of Americana music including Folk, Country Blues, Old Time, Bluegrass, and Jazz.

Ali Dineen & Feral Foster

Feral Foster has been gigging in New York, across the country and in Europe for the past 10 years, capturing the imagination and attention of listeners with his impassioned singing and powerful songwriting. Foster draws from the deep wellspring of early blues, country, and jazz to tell contemporary, human stories. Fans of Dave Van Ronk would especially appreciate Fosters voice.

Ali Dineen is an artist, performer, musician, and composer from Jackson Heights, Queens. She performs her original music and songs from the American folk tradition and draws upon multiple genres/traditions ranging from 1920s American jazz to Eastern European polyphony. Ali also works with The Everything Is Fine Theater Company, the Bread and Puppet Theater.

Little Nora Brown

Nora Brown started learning ukulele at age six from the late Shlomo Pestcoe, with a focus on old-time music. Brown has played on the Floyd Radio Show in Floyd, Virginia, the Washington Square Park Folk Festival, Brooklyn Folk Festival, Brooklyn Americana Festival, Oldtone Roots Music Festival, both Summer and Winter Hoots at the Ashokan Center and NYC Trad Fest.  The Tribeca Film Festival funded a short documentary by Josh Weinstein about Nora called “Little Nora (the Banjo Prodigy).”
