Nikki Birch

Nikki Birch is a video producer, multimedia creator, and advocate for independent artists. Before joining NPR Music/Visuals as a Lead Video Producer in 2020, she spent nine years as the cofounder of HighBreedMusic, a music and video production studio specializing in content creation, live recordings, and providing a platform for independent artists.
At NPR, Nikki has produced over 20 Tiny Desk Concerts, with a focus on jazz and emerging talent. A Grammy Award-winning videographer, she was part of the team behind Snarky Puppy & Lalah Hathaway’s Best R&B Performance in 2013.
Nikki is a frequent guest on NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour and was a presenter at the 2024 Wavy Awards. She also co-hosts three podcasts with Tanya Ellis:
A Thousand Eyes and One – launched in 2016, focused on Game of Thrones and the World of Ice and Fire
Wine On An Empty Stomach – a fantasy and speculative book club exploring diverse literature
#32sday – a pop culture livestream covering movies, TV shows, and old-time radio episodes
In addition to video production, she also works as a video editor, photographer, and graphic designer, bringing a wide range of skills and experience to creative projects.
