ciénaga is the radio operator of SMART RIDER PRINCIPLES (SRP) on East Village Radio. SRP is a musical colonoscopy that finds expression through silliness, asymmetry, and the entropic power of the clang. by hewing together a wide palette of sounds, SRP forges a musical “shatter zone” - a term used by anthropologists to describe peripheral areas of a state without order or clear state authority. formed under immense pressure and marked by a rich tapestry of cultures and languages, these inaccessible areas serve as havens for the ungovernable. wielding the shards of this and that, SRP guffaws, shimmies, and slices away at notions of mastery in favor of something much more fun: ham-handed musical whimsy.
