Jerry Phelps
Jerry Phelps is an arts educator, performer, and executive coach whose creative work is deeply influenced by the musical traditions of his youth: rhythm and blues, zydeco, and gospel. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Music Education and has led the development of arts programs across the United States, supporting teachers, school districts, and advancing student achievement.
Phelps was recognized as a quarterfinalist for the inaugural GRAMMY Music Educator Award by the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Foundation, selected from more than 30,000 nominations. As a performer and musical director, he has sold out venues throughout New York City, including Don’t Tell Mama, The Duplex, Metropolitan Room, Triad Theatre, and Laurie Beechman Theatre. His students have gone on to earn GRAMMY Awards and build careers across Broadway, television, and film.
In addition, he is a certified executive coach with MindFrame LLC, helping leaders foster creativity, clarity, and high-performing teams.
