Portrait of Josh Rabinowitz

Josh Rabinowitz

Music Consultant/Professor of Music
Brooklyn Music Experience

Josh Rabinowitz has shaped the soundscape of modern media, producing over 10,000 tracks for brands, film, television, and major labels—each one a signal embedded in the noise of contemporary life. At Cannes, he was named The Musical Genius as the inaugural Music Jury President, a title that somehow captures both the absurdity and brilliance of his career.

His 14 years at Grey’s Music Team, preceded by 7.5 at Y&R, weren’t just stints—they were eras where music and marketing tangled in unexpectedly artful ways. Rabinowitz helped make the jingle strange again, emotional again, sometimes even revolutionary.

As an educator at Berklee, The New School, and Brooklyn College, he’s mentored over 1,000 students—musicians, producers, cultural translators—helping them find their voice in an industry constantly shifting underfoot. His consultancy, Brooklyn Music Experience, offers creative direction and cultural strategy, guiding brands and artists through the evolving future of sound.

He remains fascinated by music’s stealth power—how it slips into memory, reframes meaning, and makes the banal feel cosmic. His work lives in those moments of unexpected resonance, where melody meets message and something sparks!
