7x GRAMMY-nominated and Ivor Novello Award winner

Lauren Christy is a seven-time GRAMMY-nominated and Ivor Novello Award–winning songwriter, record producer, and artist whose songs have defined multiple eras of pop and rock music. A founding member of the  production and writing team The Matrix , Christy helped craft global hits for Avril Lavigne, Jason Mraz, Korn, Liz Phair, Hilary Duff, Rihanna, Bebe Rexha, and David Bowie, among others. Her work has appeared on more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, including chart-topping anthems such as “Complicated,” “Sk8er Boi,” “I’m With You,” “The Remedy,” and “Me Myself And I “.

As part of The Matrix, Christy earned three official GRAMMY nominations and contributed to seven GRAMMY-nominated projects in total, while becoming the first female producer ever nominated for producing artists other than herself in the Producer of the Year, Non-Classical category.

Christy began her career with two solo albums on Mercury Records, including the acclaimed debut Lauren Christy (1993) featuring “The Color of the Night,” the theme song from the Bruce Willis film The Color of Night, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. Her follow-up album, Breed (1997), featured the title track from the Batman & Robin soundtrack.

After redefining early-2000s pop-rock with The Matrix, she continued writing and producing for many of the world’s leading artists — from Kelly Clarkson, Bebe Rexha, and Iggy Azalea to Enrique Iglesias, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, and David Bowie — whose groundbreaking remix collaboration “New Killer Star (The Matrix Remix)” further showcased Christy’s creative range.

In 2025, Christy released Their Hits My Way, a career-spanning album reimagining the songs she originally wrote and produced for other artists — a powerful reminder of her melodic instinct, versatility, and emotional depth. With billions of streams and an enduring influence on pop culture, Lauren Christy remains one of the most respected female producers and songwriters in modern music — continually evolving, yet unmistakably herself.
