Contributor to the Los Angeles Times, SPIN, American Songwriter, etc.Tina Benitez-Eves is a New York City-based writer and editor whose work has been published in local and national publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Billboard, Spin, American Songwriter, and Men’s Journal. Born and raised in New York City, Tina immersed herself in the music scene early on, catching the Ramones play their final concerts in mid-1990s and capturing emerging ‘00s bands like Interpol and the Strokes.
Since joining American Songwriter as Senior Writer in 2019, she spearheaded the expansion of the online and print series, Behind the Song and Writer’s Block, including interviews with KISS, Gloria Estefan, U2’s The Edge, the Doobie Brothers, Jon Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Bonnie Raitt, Ann Wilson, Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox and dozens of other artists.
Her upcoming book, Hot 100, scheduled for release in 2027, is a memoir of work by the Los Angeles-based visual artist Kii Arens, who has produced commissioned works, designed album covers, and directed music videos for Dolly Parton, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Taylor Swift, and hundreds of other artists during his 30-plus-year career.
